Student Organizing Team

The Agricultural Innovation Prize is run by students, for students, and we need your help!  If you’re at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, we’d love to have you join our team and help out.  If you are a student at another university, please check out our Ambassadors Program.

We’re seeking:

  • Ambassador program coordinators
    • Seek out universities that are eligible for funds to promote the Ag Prize on their campus.  This will include reviewing applications from universities and helping campus groups develop meaningful campus programs to promote the Ag Prize.
  • On-campus event coordinators
    • We will produce a major event on campus in May 2014, bringing in the top 25 teams, along with high profile judges for a multiple day event. Assistance is needed in coordinating and managing the event.
  • Website maintenance coordinators
    • Work to keep the website running smoothly and up to date with information. Opportunities for graphic design are also available.
  • Outreach and engagement coordinators
    • Proactively work to place the competition in relevant news outlets (online, print, video, etc), campuses across the nation, and generate buzz using traditional and online marketing campaigns.  Handle regional contacts at universities and ensure they stay up to date on the competition.
  • Team support coordinators
    • Ensure that teams receive help submitting a great quality entry. The support coordinators will assist teams by reaching out with information, and find or relay answers to any questions that teams may have.
  • Mentor and judge coordinators
    • Each finalist team will need a mentor in the field of their proposal; we need your help in finding the best possible mentor for the team, whether it’s someone geographically nearby, or a subject expert that can help from afar.  It’s also necessary is to find high profile judges for the first, second, and grand prize rounds of proposal evaluation.

Participating students are encouraged to list their affiliation with the Agricultural Innovation Prize planning team as relevant experience on their resumes. The coordinating staff at UW can also assist you in receiving class credit as an independent study if you’re interested in the opportunity.
