Dr. Remington is currently a Sweet Potato Value Chain Specialist in Malawi for CIP. He has over 35 years of experience in African farming systems beginning with Peace Corps in Mali in 1977. Subsequent, long term assignments in Togo, Cote’ d’Ivoire, Gambia, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Burundi and Malawi with experience in both the drylands and the humid tropics. His expertise and interest is in seed systems and seed security with a focus on Africa, which includes both assessment and market-based responses to disaster.
Before joining CIP in February 2014, Dr. Remington spent nearly two decades with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in various African countries, and most recently served as a principal agriculture advisor based in Nairobi, Ouagadougou, Bujumbura, and Lilongwe.
