Lieutenant Colonel Michael A. “Caveman” Marsicek is an Active Duty Air Force Weather and Environmental Sciences Officer serving as Chief, Weather Strategic Plans and Integration Division, Directorate of Weather, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington D.C. The Division aids the Director of Weather in developing strategic vision for application of weather forces, equipment and processes in support of Air Force, Army and Joint operations. He further integrates weather, climate and space environmental services across DoD, the Interagency and our International partners ensuring environmental intelligence, models and technology informs C4I and decision makers during planning and operations.
Colonel Marsicek received his commission through United States Air Force Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, where he was selected as Honor Graduate in April 1999. He enjoys a diverse background that includes prior weather enlisted experience, selection to the Air Force Intern Program and completion of three masters’ degrees in the Arts and Sciences. He has provided weather and current operations support to missions ranging from the space shuttle to rotary, combat, heavy airlift and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance aircraft.
Colonel Marsicek is married to the former Miss Sheri Davis of St. Charles, Missouri. They have two children, Brittany and Jacob.
